By Personal AI, we mean an AI that stays with a person over time, across changes in models and devices.
BVLVO studies the protocols this would require: how the AI develops abilities, gets permission to act, builds a record of its work and pays for resources.

Principal-Need-Shaped Personal AI
Could a person’s changing needs shape the abilities their AI develops over the years?
Our proposed experiment, NT-CIE, compares AI systems with the same starting point and task history, but different long-term human needs. We want to find out whether any resulting differences in ability last and match those needs.

Early simulations helped us revise the experiment. We are now checking the method; the hypothesis remains unconfirmed.
